Marlboro introduces "Marlboro 'M' Marijuana Cigarettes." Rumor has it that Marlboro has jumped on the cannabis bandwagon ever since it has been legalized in more than several states. Now that 420, is legalized, many are considering if big conglomerate tobacco companies are marketing marijuana cigarettes. Many articles are already surfacing social media that this is true. As you know, marijuana is legalized in a few states now, including states such as Alaska, Washington D.C., Colorado, California, Oregon. A company back in 2014 Abril Uno, was said to of started the rumor. There was also news in circulation that the camnabis was going to be genetically modified by some tobacco companies. However, company references denied that they are putting GMO's in in cannabis.
We had to debunk the story considering a few factors about marijuana. The reason why the story is fake because the cannabis industry is a multi-billion dollar industry and it would take a large investment from Marlboro to produce a huge quantity. You can not ship marijuana from one state to another without state licenses. Also you have to abide by state regulations in each state. Marlboro would also have to find a manufacturing facility to have a mass production of the cannabis product. Many tobacco companies are investing in vapor cigarettes. The packaging is very convencing however there were a few obvious things that showed Marlboro was on the idea but the rumors were false. There were also rumors that the company had a deal with drug lords in Peru and Mexico to make a possible production ring of legal cannabis. Marlboro is considering to use U.S. patents to shape medical cannabis in the future.
